After 17 days of Olympic competition and 13 days of Paralympic action, Tokyo bid farewell and passed the torch to the next host, Paris, at the Paralympics Closing Ceremony on Sunday.

Matt Scott, a five-time Paralympian, was the flag bearer for Team USA, just hours after helping the men’s wheelchair basketball team win its second straight gold medal. The Americans finished with 104 medals, 62% of which were won by women (ahead of the 58% of Tokyo Olympic medals earned by women).

A crowd gathered in Paris outside the Eiffel Tower to celebrate the handoff between the two cities:
