The Picks: Eagles at Giants

It’s that time of week. Time to man up and make your pick for this week’s game. Get it right, and you’ll be able to afford all those outdoor Christmas decorations you wanted from Home Depot: the inflatable snow globe, the reindeer made of Christmas light wires, the plastic Santa, the styrofoam Nativity scene, the eight-foot-tall statue of the Abominable Snow Monster of the North, the cannons, the life-sized gingerbread tool shed, the crate of live dwarfs dressed as elves. All of it can be YOURS if you’re bold enough to put a little action on this puppy! Here we go:

Peter King: Giants 24, Eagles 23. “The difference, for me, is the quickness of the Giant front in dealing with Michael Vick. He's going to make eight or 10 big plays in this game; there's no doubt in my mind about it.” Uh, if Vick makes eight or ten big plays in this game, I’m pretty sure the Eagles will win by 40 points. You to limit him to a lot fewer than eight or ten big plays to beat Philly.

Me: I thought the Giants were frauds for the majority of this season, but that defensive line is no joke. I’d like to think the QB matchup here tilts the balance in favor of Philly (Eli will get picked off at least once, guaranteed), but I can’t shake the feeling that this will another game where Vick gets hurt and needs to be decommissioned for a few weeks. It’s bound to happen at this point, and this is the front that will make it happen. It’s not to late to slide, Mike! GIANTS 30, EAGLES 20.
