Sixers swingman Justin Anderson underwent surgery Friday for recurring tibial stress syndrome in his left leg. The procedure was performed by Dr. David Porter of Indiana University Health.
Anderson will be reevaluated in two weeks and again in the six- to eight-week range, with an update coming at approximately eight weeks.
Anderson was hit hard by injuries during 2017-18. He missed 23 games during a stretch from late November into early January with shin splints in that same left leg. Anderson also missed eight more games later in the season with a right ankle sprain.
In his third NBA season, Anderson appeared in just 38 games. He averaged 6.2 points and 2.4 rebounds in 13.7 minutes per game.
