Lowry to Miami among big moves early in NBA free agency originally appeared on NBC Sports Philadelphia
Kyle Lowry is not heading home to Philadelphia.
The 35-year-old Villanova product will move from the Raptors to the Heat, he tweeted Monday night shortly after the official start of NBA free agency negotiations.

Yahoo Sports’ Vince Goodwill reported Miami expected to acquire Lowry via sign-and-trade, and that the veteran will ink a new three-year contract. The terms of that sign-and-trade are not yet known, although ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported Sunday night that Goran Dragic and Precious Achiuwa were two “key elements” of a potential deal.
Multiple reports had linked Lowry with the Sixers both leading into free agency and ahead of the trade deadline in March. Though Lowry is a six-time All-Star and still among the league’s best point guards, such a move would have limited the Sixers financially, forcing the team to operate under the hard cap.

The early stages of free agency also included a slew of reported agreements for other big-name point guards, including Mike Conley (Jazz), Chris Paul (Suns) and Lonzo Ball (Bulls via sign-and-trade).
Former Process Era point guard T.J. McConnell and the Pacers came to terms on a four-year, $35 million contract, J. Michael of the Indianapolis Star reported. Nerlens Noel and Alec Burks, both former Sixers, re-signed with the Knicks, Wojnarowski reported.
Several potential Sixers targets reportedly came off the board Monday night, including Kelly Olynyk (Pistons), Doug McDermott (Spurs) and Torrey Craig (Pacers).
No Sixers agreements had been reported as of 7 p.m. ET on Monday. The team entered free agency with 11 players under contract for next season, not counting draft picks Jaden Springer, Charles Bassey and Filip Petrusev.
