Markelle Fultz, Furkan Korkmaz Slated to Start First Game of Las Vegas Summer League

LAS VEGAS - Markelle Fultz and Furkan Korkmaz are slated to start Saturday in the Sixers' Las Vegas summer league debut against the Warriors.

The team will stick with their starting lineup from Utah summer league: Fultz, Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot, Korkmaz, Alex Poythress and Kaleb Tarczewski. A key combination in that starting five is the evaluation of Fultz and Luwawu-Cabarrot playing together.

"I want to see if that growth can continue," assistant coach Lloyd Pierce said of the starting five. "If not, then we'll make some changes."

Fultz is one of the headliners of summer league in Las Vegas. His focus will be on improving his defense while still effectively running the floor.

"I want to make sure on the offensive end I stay aggressive and get my teammates the ball," he said.

Fultz's first game will be against several familiar Pac-12 opponents from his one season at Washington. The Warriors' roster includes four rookies from Oregon. Fultz said there is a level of respect for one another, but don't expect him to go easy on anyone from any school.

"I don't look at who's the star player or who's on the team. I just go out and give it my all," he said. "If I'm playing against somebody that's not that good or the best player in the world, I'm going to come out with the same mindset."
The Sixers and Warriors will tip off at 7:30 p.m. local time at the Thomas & Mack Center at UNLV.
