Joel Embiid Reaches Scoring Milestone in Rapid Fashion

The Sixers' man in the middle scored 28 points in Tuesday night's 119-113 win over the Clippers.

In the process, he reached 3,000 points for his career. He hit 3,000 in his 130th career game, making him the fastest player in franchise history to reach the milestone to start his NBA career, nosing out George McGinnis (135 games) and Allen Iverson (136).

The fastest players to reach 3,000 points in a 76ers uniform to start an NBA career:

Joel Embiid - 130 games
George McGinnis - 135 games
Allen Iverson - 136 games
Julius Erving - 143 games
Jerry Stackhouse - 151 games

Wilt Chamberlain reached 3,000 points in just 92 games in a Sixers uniform, but he had already played five-plus NBA seasons prior to his trade from the Warriors to the Sixers in 1965.

While Embiid needed the fewest number of games to hit 3,000, he did so two months shy of his 25th birthday. Because of the time he missed with various injuries, he's well down the list of youngest Sixers players to hit that mark.
