For the second time in as many months to start his career, Joel Embiid is the NBA's Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month.
Embiid averaged 19.8 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.1 steals and 2.4 blocks in 27.3 minutes in 10 December games. He shot 45 percent from the field, 30 percent from three and 78 percent from the line.
On the season, Embiid is averaging 18.9 points, 7.3 rebounds and 2.4 blocks. He's the first player since Shaquille O'Neal in 1992 to average at least those numbers through his first 22 games.

Michael Carter-Williams was named Rookie of the Month four times in 2013-14 and went on to win Rookie of the Year. Allen Iverson won the honor twice in 1996-97 and was also Rookie of the Year.
Embiid is well on his way to that season accolade. He's the overwhelming favorite in Vegas to win Rookie of the Year at minus-750, meaning a $750 wager would pay $100.
