What a difference a week makes.
Last week Isaiah Canaan was spending time with the Sixers at the Las Vegas Summer League. He had been attending Sixers’ games and participated in an off-day team-building outing at Topgolf. Today, he officially became a member of the Bulls.
The Sixers did not extend Canaan a qualifying offer this offseason. He agreed to sign with his new team last Tuesday while out west. It is a two-year, $2.2 million contract, according to Cleveland.com.
The Sixers acquired Canaan in a trade with the Rockets in February of 2015 in the K.J. McDaniels deal. He appeared in 99 games for the Sixers, averaging 11.0 points (36.3 percent from three), 2.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists last season.
“We are excited to add Isaiah to our group,” Bulls General Manager Gar Forman said in a statement. “We feel his ability to knock down perimeter shots will be an asset to our team.”
The Bulls also signed guards Dwyane Wade and Rajon Rondo in free agency.
