Ex-La Salle Star Doug Overton to Become Coach of D-II Lincoln

Comcast SportsNet Sixers analyst and former La Salle and NBA guard Doug Overton will become Division II Lincoln University's head basketball coach on Thursday.

Overton, 46, is a Big 5 and La Salle Hall of Famer, playing with the Explorers from 1987-91. He holds La Salle's all-time assists (671) and steals (277) records, while scoring 1,795 points, leading to an 11-year NBA career, including parts of three seasons with his hometown Sixers.

Overton's coaching résumé includes stints as an assistant with the Nets and Sixers, as well as experience at the college level with Saint Joseph's.
