NBA Notes: Marcus Smart Fined $5K for Flop Against Hawks

NEW YORK -- The NBA has fined Boston Celtics guard Marcus Smart $5,000 for violating its anti-flopping rules during Game 3 of the Celtics' first-round playoff series against the Atlanta Hawks.

The NBA announced the fine on Saturday. The league says the flop occurred with 4:32 remaining in the fourth quarter of the Celtics' 111-103 win on Friday night.

Smart was going for an offensive rebound and made contact with Hawks guard Kyle Korver.

Grizzles: Conley wins Joe Dumars Trophy
NEW YORK -- Mike Conley of the Memphis Grizzlies joins rare company as a two-time winner of the Joe Dumars Trophy for sportsmanship.

The NBA announced Saturday that Conley joins Grant Hill (3) and Jason Kidd (2) as multiple winners since the award's inception in the 1996. The point guard also won in 2014.

"He's very deserving as just a wonderful human being, a class act on the court, the way he carries himself and certainly all the things he does in the community," Grizzlies coach Dave Joerger said. "He plays the game the right way, and then he carries that over into the community and all the positive things he's done here in the last nine years is just fantastic."

The NBA will make a $10,000 donation on behalf of Conley to his charity of choice, Methodist Healthcare Foundation. The money is earmarked for the sickle cell center (see full story).

Pacers: Vogel starts rookie Turner in Game 4
INDIANAPOLIS -- Indiana Pacers coach Frank Vogel will start rookie forward Myles Turner on Saturday against Toronto.

Turner replaces veteran Lavoy Allen, who averaged 2.0 points and 4.3 rebounds during the first three games in the playoffs. The Raptors lead the best-of-seven series 2-1 after winning at Indiana on Thursday.

It's only the fifth time Toronto has had a lead in a series.

Turner played well off the bench in Games 1 and 3 and is averaging 11.7 points and 5.0 rebounds.

Vogel says he's making the change because Turner is producing and the Pacers have to "play the guys who are producing."

Center Ian Mahinmi also will start despite being listed as a questionable with a lower-back injury.
