The Picks: Bears at Eagles

It’s that time of week. Time to man up and make your pick for this week’s game. Get it right, and you'll be able to pay a lawn service to come pick up your leaves. Get it wrong, and it's 60 hours of tortuous rake labor for you, the skin of your palms torn off completely by the rake's unforgiving wood handle. DAMN YOU, RAKE! IF ONLY YOU COULD AFFORD A BLOWER! Here we go:

Peter King: Eagles 23, Bears 21. “Sack night at the Linc." Oooh, free sack to the first 10,000 kids who enter!

Nine of Nine ESPN Experts: Eagles. Jaws had to withhold his pick this evening. You know, because ESPN wants to prevent any conflicts of interest. Meanwhile, be sure to watch the Texas Longhorns on the Longhorn Network, part of the ESPN family!

Yahoo! Users: Eagles. (no score)

Mike Silver: Eagles. (no score)

Pete Prisco (CBS): Eagles. (no score)

AJ Daulerio: Eagles.

Index Card I Threw Up In The Air With The Name Of Each Team On Either Side, Seeing Which Team Would Land Face Up: Eagles (Card Record: 4-3) Even the card is on the wagon!

The Wife: Eagles

Me: This seems like a good time to issue a contrarian alert and pick the Bears. But the Bears are such a good matchup for the Eagles that I can't bring myself to do it. The Bears' O-line is atrocious, and the rejuvenated Eagles pass rush should get to Jay Cutler on more than a few occasions. And the Philly run defense has been vastly improved over the past two games, so much so that I have faith in them to keep Matt Forte's production down. The biggest change in this Eagles team since going 1-4 is that they have minimized turnovers and emphasized the run. If they do it again tonight, they're finally a .500 ballclub again. EAGLES 21, BEARS 10 (2011 picks: 5-2)
