Vince Velasquez Leaves Start Vs. Cubs After Just Two Pitches With Apparent Injury

So much for bouncing back and going deep into a game. Phillies right-hander Vince Velasquez left his start Wednesday after just two pitches with an apparent injury.

Both pitches Velasquez threw were 86 mph fastballs, a sign that something was wrong. Velasquez's fastball has averaged 94 mph this season.

Velasquez has fizzled since starting the season 4-1 with a 1.44 ERA. His ERA is 6.00 in his last six starts, his opponents have hit .317 with a .901 OPS, and he's averaged just five innings per start.

Brett Oberholtzer relieved Velasquez in the first inning.
