Today's Lineup: Aaron Altherr Batting Third, Maikel Franco Sits Vs. Carlos Ruiz, Mariners

It seems Aaron Altherr has solidified his spot in the lineup, for now. Altherr will slide into the three-hole today vs. the Mariners, overtaking Odubel Herrera's usual spot in the order. Herrera will bat second today.

Altherr hit another three-run bomb Tuesday night, his fifth homer of the year, tying him with Maikel Franco for the team lead. Altherr has been on a tear this season, but has stepped it up even more in May, hitting .423, with seven of his 11 hits going for extra bases.

Hitting in the three-hole, Phillies hitters are averaging just .248 on the year.

After an 0 for 5 night with three strikeouts Tuesday, Franco will sit in place of Andres Blanco Wednesday. Franco was the only Phillies position player without in the loss.

Phillies fans will get their wish, as Carlos Ruiz will catch and bat eighth for the Mariners. Ruiz flew out to center in a pinch-hit at bat Tuesday.
