Tickets Available for Ashburn-Kalas Baseball Benefit Dinner

Looking for a chance to meet some major league ballplayers and help a great cause?

The Richie Ashburn-Harry Kalas Foundation will hold its annual dinner on Thursday, May 19 at 6:30 p.m. at Morton's steakhouse in Center City.

The event features an open bar, dinner, souvenirs and a chance to mingle with Phillies past and present. The list of players who will be in attendance includes Maikel Franco and Odubel Herrera. Phillies manager Pete Mackanin will be there. Former Phillies Gary Matthews and Ruben Amaro Jr. will be there, as well as Chris Wheeler, Jim Jackson, Scott Palmer and the Phillies' ball girls.

The foundation was started in 1998, a year after the passing of beloved Hall of Famer Richie Ashburn. It now honors the memory of Ashburn's friend and broadcast partner Harry Kalas, as well.

The goal of the foundation is to help educate kids through baseball in memory of two great Philadelphia baseball men. Since its inception in 1998, the foundation has touched the lives of more than 1,000 youngsters through free baseball camps and clinics.

To help keep all this going and attend the dinner, visit the foundation's Website at www.ashburnkalasfoundation.org for ticket details.
