Phillies Promote First-round Pick Adam Haseley to Class A Williamsport

It didn't take long for Adam Haseley's first promotion.

The Phillies on Thursday moved Haseley up from the Gulf Coast League to the Williamsport Crosscutters, their Class A Short-Season affiliate.

In three games in the GCL, Haseley went 7 for 12 with a double, triple and four RBIs.

Haseley, a college outfielder from the University of Virginia, probably could have gotten started with Williamsport but building some confidence in the GCL can't hurt.

The Phils plan to have Haseley and 2016 first overall pick Mickey Moniak at separate affiliates for the time being so that both get a chance to play center field every day.

Moniak is currently with Class A Lakewood, where he's hit .272/.324/.400 with 17 doubles, four triples, three homers and 29 RBIs in 292 plate appearances.
