Phillies' Rhys Hoskins Now One of the Favorites to Win NL MVP

It's May 1, which means an odds update from Bovada ... which really likes Rhys Hoskins.

Hoskins is 15/1 to win NL MVP, trailing only Bryce Harper (9/5), Kris Bryant (9/5) and Nolan Arenado (12/1). Pretty remarkable considering Hoskins has yet to play even a half-season's worth of games in the majors.

Hoskins ended April hitting .303/.457/.528 with eight doubles, four homers and 19 RBI. He trails Harper by a point for the NL lead in on-base percentage.

Aaron Nola (25/1) and Jake Arrieta (30/1) round out the Top 10 in National League Cy Young odds. Max Scherzer is the current favorite.

Nola had a great April, posting a 2.58 ERA and 0.98 WHIP. He allowed three runs or less in all six starts and two runs or less in five of them.

The Phillies' World Series odds changed from 75/1 to 35/1 after a 16-12 April.

Their odds to win the NL East switched from 10/1 to 7/2, the same as the Braves, who have won six of the season's first nine meetings.
