A Different Look for Phillies' Lineup in Game 2

As expected, the Phillies' lineup has a different look for the second game of the season.

Scott Kingery and Odubel Herrera are in; Maikel Franco and Nick Williams are out.

Kingery's first major-league start comes at third base.

1. Cesar Hernandez, 2B
2. Carlos Santana, 1B
3. Odubel Herrera, CF
4. Rhys Hoskins, LF
5. Aaron Altherr, RF
6. Scott Kingery, 3B
7. Andrew Knapp, C
8. Nick Pivetta, P
9. J.P. Crawford, SS

The Phils face hard-throwing Braves right-hander Mike Foltynewicz, who allowed four homers and six runs against them in 10⅔ innings last season.

It's interesting that the pitcher bats eighth tonight after batting ninth in the opener. Crawford is the one who moves down four spots.

Also notable that Altherr gets a second consecutive start against a righty while the left-handed hitting Williams is the odd outfielder out.

Could be Gabe Kapler just going along with the handful of lineups he told reporters he had laid out.

Could be a reaction to Williams' rough day at the plate Thursday (0 for 4, two strikeouts, just 12 pitches seen). Probably a combination of both.
