Rollins' Glove Golden Again

Phillies shortstop pulls in 4th Gold Glove Award

Phillies shortstop Jimmy Rollins took home his fourth career Rawlings Gold Glove Award Tuesday night.

J-Roll’s .978 fielding percentage was the worst of his career as he committed 13 errors but still led qualified National League shortstops.

Rollins also pulled in Gold Glove honors in his MVP season in 2007, 2008 and 2009.

Rollins received plenty of congratulations from fans on Twitter, something that wasn’t lost on the longest-tenured Phillie.

“Thanks to you all! I appreciate the continuous support throughout the years!!” he tweeted.

Major League managers and up to six coaches on each staff vote for the awards and can’t select players on their own teams.

Other repeat winners in the National League included Cardinals catcher Yadier Molina (5th time), Rockies outfielder Carlos Gonzalez (2) and Marlins pitcher Mark Buehrle (4).
