Philadelphia Eagles Inspire Henna Design for Wedding

Pauline Alegria, a newlywed and die hard Philadelphia Eagles fan from Maple Shade, New Jersey, showed off her love for the world champion Birds on her wedding day in a very unusual way.

"Recently, Indian brides have gotten very personal with the henna designs they use for a wedding," Alegria said. "I asked my artist if she’d be able to do something for the Eagles."

Alegria's love for the Eagles started on the day of her birth.

"I was born during Sunday Night Football, and my dad was watching the Eagles game while my mom was in labor. From then on, Sundays were for Eagles games," Alegria said.

Her parents are the reason for being such a passionate Eagles fan. They had season tickets, and Alegria was able to go to games with them when she was younger.

“I remember it being very cold most of the time, and we’d be standing outside with all of our coats on,” Alegria said, “Learning the fight song inside the stadium also brings back good memories.”

Last season is a high point, for obvious reasons. Alegria watched many of the games in Philly, and eventually celebrated on Broad Street after the Birds' historic Super Bowl win over the Patriots.

Alegria said her henna design for the wedding did not surprise any of her guests.

"I think it was more of a surprise that someone could do it. Everyone loved it, and it was a super cool touch that was personal to me and added to the wedding," Alegria said.
