President Obama praised the U.S. men's soccer team on Thursday while at a town hall meeting in Minneapolis, saying that the squad is "defying the odds," NBC News reported. "We were in what’s called the 'Group of Death' and even though we didn't win today, we were in the toughest grouping and we got through," Obama said. The U.S. team lost to Germany on Thursday, but has enough points to advance to the final "knockout" round of 16 teams.
