Thanks to Hard Knocks, We Know Why Rams Cut Eagles WR Deon Long

The Eagles last week signed wide receiver Deon Long after he was released by the Los Angeles Rams on July 31.

It's not unusual for minor transactions like these to happen all throughout summer and training camp, as teams are constantly shuffling around their rosters.

However, on Tuesday night's episode of HBO's Hard Knocks, it was revealed that Long was released because he failed to follow one of Jeff Fisher's training camp rules.

Which rule is that, you ask?

Long was cut because he had a female visitor in his dorm room at Rams training camp. Per ESPN.com:

"What part of the rules, what part of 'no female guests in the room,' did you not understand?" Fisher said in a meeting with Long.

After cutting ties with Long, Fisher then addressed the team to tell them the news. He also explained how he doesn't expect the team to settle for a mediocre season.

"I'm not f---ing going 7-9 or 8-8 or 9-7 ... we have too much talent here for that. We had some 7-9 bulls--- this morning and we can't have that. Deon is gone. That is 7-9 bulls--- and we don't need it."

Luckily for us, the show's crew was there to film the awkward meeting between Fisher and Long. Let's hope for Long's sake that he's able to follow Doug Pederson's rules during his time in Philly.
