The long-awaited Lane Johnson news has arrived.
A league source has confirmed Johnson has been suspended and has an appeal hearing scheduled for Oct. 4.
The news of Johnson's supsension was first reported early Tuesday by The Philadelphia Inquirer's Jeff McLane.
This means Johnson will be eligible to play on Sunday, when the Eagles host the cross-state Steelers at the Linc. If the suspension is upheld, Johnson will be out for 10 games because this will be his second PED suspension.
Johnson has known the suspension was coming since well before the regular season began. He said his A sample tested positive for a peptide from an amino acid he ordered online. The holdup was the return of the B sample.

If Johnson is suspended starting with the Lions game on Oct. 9, he won't be eligible to play again until Dec. 18 in Baltimore. He'd be able to play the final three games.
Once Johnson is gone, the Eagles will likely move left guard Allen Barbre out to right tackle, then replace him with either veteran Stefen Wisniewski or rookie Isaac Seumalo. The team worked this way during training camp in anticipation of the suspension.
