Two minutes left in a divisional round playoff game. The Eagles are down six points but driving, and Nick Foles is looking like a magician under center as he has done so many times before.
It feels inevitable that the Birds are going to score a touchdown and win the game.
Then, heartbreak. Alshon Jeffery, the team's highest-paid receiver, drops an easy catch to keep the drive going. It lands right in the hands of the New Orleans Saints. Season over.
MARSHON LATTIMORE.

"I gotta catch that ball," Jeffery said after the game. "That's on me. I'll take that loss. I let all my teammates down. To the City of Philadelphia, that's on me. I'll take that."

Complete coverage of the Philadelphia Eagles and their NFL rivals from NBC Sports Philadelphia.
In the Philadelphia we grew up in, this would be a recipe for fans to run a guy out of town. Sports talk radio would be full of demands to cut him first thing Monday morning. We'd be yelling like Chicago did all last week at Cody Parkey.
But that Philadelphia - the pre-Super Bowl LII Philadelphia - might as well be an alternate universe now. Eagles fans understand just how important Jeffery was to that Super Bowl win a year ago, and they're here to let him know that they have his back despite the devastating mistake.
is this the god damn twilight zone? #1 eagles receiver's dropped pass leads to a game-ending interception and philly twitter is... pic.twitter.com/8m0OwtFl5X— collin mehalick (@collin) January 14, 2019
Hell of a year. Hell of a title defense. I'll hear nothing negative about @TheWorldof_AJ and I'll be cheering hard for the Chiefs for next few weeks to see Andy finally get one. #BirdGang— Dan Campbell (@headabovewater) January 14, 2019
Just do not blame Alshon. Brought us a ring on a torn rotator cuff. Balled out every time. Keep your head up @TheWorldof_AJ.— Drew Corrigan (@Dcorrigan50) January 14, 2019
We love you, Alshon! Don't let one play define you! 💚— Sarah Holahan (@Aquataine) January 14, 2019
One drop doesn't define a player, a team, or a season. I hope Alshon is an Eagle for life.— David Fintan (@david_fintan) January 14, 2019
Also - remember that without @TheWorldof_AJ we wouldn't have a Super Bowl ring to lift our spirit. Chin up, homie!— PHINALLY (@BirdGangPHI) January 14, 2019
@TheWorldof_AJ I'll fight a whale for you— Treb (@treblaw) January 14, 2019
Win as a team, lose as a team. Philly has your back, Alshon.
