Unless Mike Wallace got to Philly and really fell in love with cheesesteaks, he's about to come into some extra cash.
Because as long as he weighs less than 250 pounds on Monday, when the Eagles' offseason workout program begins, he'll earn a $585,000 incentive, according to ESPN's Field Yates.
Being under 250 pounds shouldn't be any trouble for the speedy wide receiver, who is listed at a cool 200 pounds. Really, it would be more of an accomplishment if he gained 50 pounds since we last saw him at his introductory press conference on March 23.
Now I gotta lose 5 pounds so I can be 249 by Monday! 💪🏾💪🏾— Mike Wallace (@Wallace17_daKid) April 13, 2018
It's not entirely uncommon for players to have weight incentives in their contracts, but it is pretty uncommon for a speedy receiver to have one. To put it into perspective, the Eagles' heaviest receiver is Mack Hollins, who comes in at 221 pounds. Zach Ertz is listed at 250.
While Wallace's contract isn't quite the bargain we first thought it was, he does come in $1 million cheaper than Torrey Smith would have counted against the cap in 2018 and is a pretty significant upgrade. At 31, Wallace still has his speed (see story).

Wallace has a $4 million cap hit in 2018. How it breaks down: $1 million signing bonus, $915,000 base salary and $2,085,000 in other incentives, which should include this wacky weight target.
