Giants Finally Give Up on Massive 1st-round Bust

After four disappointing years, the Giants are set to release offensive tackle Ereck Flowers if they can't trade him (lol).

Flowers, of course, was the Giants' first-round selection (No. 9) back in 2015.

Schefter says that trading him would be difficult because he comes with a $2.39 million guaranteed base salary. It'll also be difficult because Flowers isn't very good - and that's being very, very nice.

In fact, the Eagles are probably hoping the Giants reconsider and start Flowers one last time on Thursday night.

After the Giants drafted Flowers back in 2015, he played in 51 games with 48 starts. He somehow lasted as their left tackle for three full seasons. This season, he was moved to right tackle and then lost his starting job.

Eagles make flurry of roster moves ahead of Ravens game

In 2015, six of the top 10 picks became Pro Bowl players: Jameis Winston, Amari Cooper, Brandon Scherff, Leondard Wiliams, Vic Beasley and Todd Gurley. The Giants took Flowers one spot before Gurley.

The Eagles took Nelson Agholor at No. 20 in the 2015 draft.
