The Eagles' three-day rookie camp will kick off on Friday and run through Sunday.
This is a chance for the newest members of the team to get acclimated to life in the NFL. All eight draft picks, 16 undrafted free agents, 26 tryout players and a few leftovers from the 2015 class will be in attendance. In all, 55 players will suit up this weekend.
One of the most interesting names on the list of tryout players is quarterback Everett Golson, who recently had a tryout with the Colts but wasn't signed.
You probably remember Golson from his time with Notre Dame and Florida State, once taking the Fighting Irish to a national title game.
He went undrafted, and at 6-0, 199 pounds, he doesn't have what many consider to be NFL size. And with four quarterbacks already on the Eagles' roster, his chances of landing a contract out of rookie camp aren't good.
Another tryout player is Temple offensive tackle Eric Lofton (6-5, 300). He's a local kid from Lumberton, N.J., where he played high school football for Rancocas Valley, the alma mater of NFL great Franco Harris.
Lofton isn't the only local kid in town for a tryout. David Bowen, who went to Boston College, is originally from Villanova, Pa., and played high school ball at Radnor.
