Nick Foles missed practice for the second straight day and is dealing with "upper body soreness," according to the Eagles.
The Super Bowl MVP had been taking most of the first-team reps because Carson Wentz is still recovering from his torn ACL. Foles has now watched the last two practices in a baseball cap.
Nate Sudfeld has taken over running the first team during 11-on-11s.
Expect to see a ton of Sudfeld and fourth-stringer Joe Callahan when the Eagles play their first preseason game on Thursday. Wentz definitely won't play in that game and the Eagles won't rush Foles if he's still having soreness.
Remember, last training camp, Foles dealt with an elbow injury that had plenty of fans concerned about his availability for the start of the season. But he returned to practice in late August and felt much better.
Zach Ertz also missed practice today, the third straight day he's missed. On Friday, Doug Pederson said Ertz was given a veteran day off, but that doesn't seem like the case now. Ertz has been seen with a compression sleeve on his left leg.
Mike Wallace, who got hurt during the open practice at the Linc, said he's just dealing with some tendinitis and might be able to return tomorrow. He said he's fine and didn't seem worried about it.
