Eagles' Michael Bennett Sits Through National Anthem

Eagles defensive lineman Michael Bennett sat on the bench on the sideline during the playing of the national anthem on Sunday.

Bennett, who had previously waited inside during the anthem, was announced as a starter and was already on the field. He sat on a metal bench, resuming his protest he started in Seattle.

Bennett is one of several NFL players who have protested systemic racism and racial inequality in the United States.

Malcolm Jenkins, who raised his fist for most of last season, stood and did not raise his fist during the anthem.
