The Eagles (2-3) will head to North Jersey for a Thursday Night Football matchup against the Giants (1-4) at MetLife Stadium.

This will be the Eagles' first game since Jay Ajayi was lost for the season with a torn ACL. That's a big loss. Maybe the Eagles will eventually trade for a running back before the deadline, but for now, they're going to have to rely on Corey Clement, Wendell Smallwood and Josh Adams until Darren Sproles (hamstring) returns.
The good news is that Clement (quad) will be back for this game after missing two. He gets back in the lineup just in the nick of time. Smallwood has actually been pretty good early this season, averaging 6.0 yards per carry. Expect him and Clement to split the workload in this game against a defense that has allowed an average of 124 yards per game on the ground.
Offense is offensive
Through five games, the Eagles' offense has not looked anything like the unit that scored over 28 points per game last season. In fact, this year, the Eagles haven't gotten over 23 points in any one contest. That's not going to get it done.
Carson Wentz has high expectations for the offense and it starts with him. But the Eagles' offensive line has struggled and they seem to have a deficiency of play-makers on the offensive side of the ball. They're going to look across the field on Thursday and see a team that's full of offensive weapons without a QB to get the ball to them.
NFC Least
The NFC East is the only division in the league without a team with a winning record. Five of the other seven have at least two teams with winning records.
That's why the Eagles can't panic at 2-3. This is their first division game of the season and if they win their division games, they're probably going to win the division and then, they can worry about the playoffs when they get there. Of course, the Eagles would love to be a No. 1 seed heading into the playoffs again, but it seems like that ain't happening. Time to just try to win the division - and it's a very winnable division.
