Could Matchup Against Giants Be Just What the Doctor Ordered for Eagles?

Could matchup against Giants be just what the doctor ordered for Eagles? originally appeared on NBC Sports Philadelphia

A Thursday night date with the Giants just might be what the doctor ordered for the Eagles (1-4-1 overall, 2-4 against the spread - ATS).  The Eagles have won 7 straight and 11 of their last 12 games versus Big Blue.

After being heavy underdogs the last 3 weeks, the Eagles opened as 6-point favorites against the Giants (1-5 overall, 3-3 ATS) according to NBC Sports betting partner PointsBet.  That number has dropped dramatically to 3.5-points after it was learned the Eagles are expected to be without Miles Sanders and Zach Ertz. Carson Wentz and Jason Kelce would be the only regular starters on offense in the lineup.

The Eagles are 0-2-1 straight up and 0-3 ATS as favorites this season.  However, the Birds have quite a bit of success on Thursdays winning their last 5 straight up and ATS per Rotoworld. Overall, the Eagles are 12-5 straight up and ATS on Thursdays.

Conversely, the Giants are not the biggest fans of Thursday games losing 4 consecutive straight up and ATS.

The Eagles had to deal with a very good Ravens team who have now won 9 games in a row straight up.  The same cannot be said for the Giants who have lost 8 of their last 9 games away from North Jersey, but from a betting perspective they are winners of 6 straight ATS on the road.
