The Sixers are about to be very #OnBrand.
One thing that will never change is that the Internet never forgets. Back on Nov. 22, 2017, in a now-deleted tweet, Ben Simmons polled fans asking if the Sixers should bring back the Iverson-era black jerseys (see story). In an overwhelming 80-20 vote, fans approved.
In response to that tweet, Sixers president Chris Heck sent out this proposal.
Ok @BenSimmons25, let's make a deal...you win Rookie of the Year, I will let you design a new uniform next year. Deal? #OnBrand— Chris Heck (@chrisheck76) November 22, 2017
Well, Monday night, Simmons won the NBA Rookie of the Year award.
Will Simmons get a chance to design some new threads for the team? That remains to be seen, but if he does, fans have made some suggestions.

To his credit, Heck, who oversees marketing and branding, introduced a number of really cool jerseys this past season. Here's hoping Simmons will get to lend his creative mind to something we see on the court in 2018.
