The Sixers will be starting a new tradition with their red uniforms this season. Whenever they wear their red jerseys this year, it will be to celebrate a moment in Sixers history.
These moments range from the Syracuse Nationals winning the NBA championship in 1955, to celebrating Allen Iverson’s Hall of Fame induction in 2016.
The team will be wearing the red uniforms for nine games — four at home and five on the road. While the Sixers have worn the red uniforms before, there will now be a significance each time they put them on.
It is important to note that just about 50 percent of the milestones are honoring Iverson and his accomplishments.
