Sixers Sign Guard-forward Anthony Brown to Deal

No general manager, no problem.

The Sixers signed guard-forward Anthony Brown to a deal Wednesday morning. Per team policy, details of the deal were not released.

Brown (6-foot-7, 210 pounds) appeared in just one game for the Timberwolves last season, but appeared in 45 games for the team's G League affiliate, averaging 18.9 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.7 assists in 37.7 minutes per game.

Brown is a 3-and-D player: 40.4 percent on 5.4 attempts with the Iowa Wolves last season.

Brown was selected 34th overall by the Lakers in 2015 and has appeared in 41 career NBA games with four teams - the Timberwolves, Lakers, Magic and Pelicans. The 25-year-old has averaged 3.9 points, 2.5 rebounds in 18.6 minutes per game in the NBA, but has shot just 28.6 percent from three.

The Sixers' roster is fairly set in the backcourt and on the wings, so consider Brown a longshot to make the team.
