It's understandable if you'd like to wait until you've seen it to believe it, but Sixers big man Joel Embiid has finally been cleared to participate in light 5-on-5 scrimmages, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical.
It's a big step for Embiid, who missed two full seasons recovering from foot surgeries after being drafted third overall by the Sixers in 2014. He's still just 22 years old and remains an intriguing prospect, one who could help turn around the Sixers' misfortunes if he can eventually get on the court.
Wojnarowski also reports that Embiid is expected to practice with the Sixers' summer league team in Las Vegas in July, even though he won't be participating in games.
