Report: Dario Saric (again) Says He'll Play for Sixers Next Season

It appears Dario Saric is finally joining the Sixers.

After he was named MVP of Olympic Qualifiers to earn Croatia a spot in the Rio Olympics, Saric said, "I'm going back home and then to the USA for the 76ers," according to a translation by The Sixers have not confirmed.

Saric was drafted by the Magic 12th overall in the 2014 NBA Draft and immediately traded to the Sixers in a deal for the draft rights to Elfrid Payton. The 22-year-old forward has spent the last few seasons playing for Anadolu Efes in Turkey instead of coming over to play for the Sixers.

But now it appears he is finally on his way to the NBA. The FIBA reporter interviewing him after the overtime victory over Italy on Saturday asked him yes or no about coming to the NBA and Saric yelled "Yes!" as he was leaving. Here's video of the exchange.

A Croatian website reported last week that Saric was set on heading to Philadelphia. However, at the time, Sixers president of basketball operations Bryan Colangelo said nothing was official until a buyout agreement was finalized and he was cleared by FIBA (see full story).

Saric has until July 17 to notify his current team of his choice and would require a buyout if he chooses to leave for the NBA.
