It's almost as if some Philadelphia 76ers fans care more about the guys who have never actually played a game for their team -- Joel Embiid, Dario Saric, Ben Simmons, etc. -- than those who have battled through years of losing for Brett Brown's squad.
Joel Embiid hit a three pointer while wearing sandals at PCOM? Sound the alarm! Ben Simmons says he'd love to go No. 1 overall? Party! A Croatian newspaper allegedly says there's a 99-percent chance Dario Saric's career in Turkey has come to an end and he'll be coming to Philadelphia? Awwwwww, yeah.
On Wednesday morning, a reddit user named rahbee33 posted the above image of what he says is a Croatian newspaper Sportske Novosti. It is not in English so it's a bit tough for us English speakers to understand, but the headline seems to translate to, "Dario Saric: 99 percent go to Philadelphia."
Bryan Colangelo was much less sure about Saric coming over after meeting with him in Istanbul over the weekend. “I wasn’t pessimistic, I wasn’t optimistic. I was somewhat neutral as to whether or not I felt he would be coming over and I still feel that way,” Colangelo said. “I’d like to think that our objectives are aligned. What we’d like to do is get him in to play for us next year.”
The foreign language article also mentioned buyout figures being in the 700,000 to 900,000 euro range. So perhaps without a buyout negotiation complete, Colangelo didn't want to sound too optimistic.
