Man Testifies in FBI Probe He Gave Person Connected to Markelle Fultz $30K Loan

While Markelle Fultz is busy soaking up the "insane" atmosphere in China, his name continues to pop up in court back in the United States.

Fultz was again mentioned on Wednesday in a federal case into NCAA basketball corruption. This time, financial planner Munish Sood testified that he gave a $30,000 loan to an associate of Fultz while the Sixers guard was at Washington.

Initial documents and records from the federal probe stated Fultz received $10,000 to get him to sign with ASM Sports agency. The 20-year-old ultimately did not sign with ASM.

Sood was accused of bribing three assistant coaches with money to influence their players to choose him as a financial adviser once they reached the professional ranks. He pleaded guilty last month to felony conspiracy to commit bribery, honest services fraud and travel act offenses, payments of bribes to an agent of a federally funded organization and wire fraud conspiracy.

Sood was one of 10 men arrested in September 2017 as part of a vast pay-for-play ring that included college coaches, agents, financiers and sneaker company executives.
