Not everyone is trusting the process.
Miami center Hassan Whiteside took what appeared to be a veiled shot at the Sixers Joel Embiid yesterday when he was asked about the All-Star game.
"I really don't even want to talk about it. It's more so a gimmick. I look at guys and they just do stuff to win the fans over, make jokes on Twitter to get people to vote for them. It ain't got nothing to do really with talent," Whiteside said in an interview with the Miami Sun Sentinel.
Although he didn't mention Embiid by name, it's not a stretch to assume he's referencing the rookie phenom who took Whiteside to BBQ Chicken town in an Instagram post (note the location).

Whiteside is having a career-year with the Heat after toiling in the NBA D-League and overseas since he was drafted in 2010 by the Sacramento Kings. He is averaging a career-high 34 minutes per game and doing damage with 17.5 points and 14.4 rebounds per contest. However, you can't discount what Embiid has done in such a short period of time this season with a minutes restriction.
Embiid is deserving of his position in the All-Star voting on both talent and personality, sorry Hassan.
