The likes of Ethan Hunt and Darth Vader are getting aerial support from the mayor of London as bloggers, tweeters and anyone with access to Photoshop are dropping a dangling Boris Johnson into some classic scenes.
Johnson, in his well-known zany way, flew down a zipline Wednesday while waving two Union Jack flags to promote the Olympics in his city. But there was a snag -- and it left the 48-year-old Oxford graduate hanging awkwardly in a harness with the two little flags still grasped in his hands.
Johnson had a sense of humor about the mid-air mishap, as his office released a statement later in the day, "Clearly the judges are likely to mark him down for artistic interpretation and, unlike Team GB, he won’t be bagging any gold medals today but he remains unbowed,” according to the Wall Street Journal.

Unfortunately for the jolly mayor, many others have a sense of humor about the zipline snag too.
Photoshopped pictures of the Johnson hanging from Bradley Wiggins' victorious fist, President Barack Obama's fishing rod, Justin Beiber's finger and coming in back up Tom Cruise in a Mission Impossible scene have flooded the Internet, the most popular source being a WordPress blog called "DangleBoris," reports the Huffington Post.
It could have been worse. He could have displayed his Olympic spirit by volunteering for the opening ceremonies and flying a bike dressed up as a bird.
