Here's a fun fact about the newest member of the Philadelphia Phillies organization and the first overall pick in the MLB Draft last night: Mickey Moniak wasn't even a month old the last time the Phillies selected a player first overall in the MLB Draft. That, of course, was none other than Pat Burrell in 1998 who went on to become a member of the 2008 World Champions.
It's always fun to watch a young kid's dream come true, so here's a look at that happening for Mickey. One of his friends posted this video of the moment when he realized he went first overall to Philly.
My boy it's been a long ride with you brother can't believe this is real. Love you like a brother man @MickeyMoniak pic.twitter.com/i4rLEhvpan— HagyD™ (@HagenDanner) June 9, 2016
And here's a little interview Mickey did on SportsCenter last night.
