The Phillies got an outfielder back on Wednesday night, as Daniel Nava (hamstring) was activated from the 10-day disabled list.
Nava, a potential August trade candidate, will jump right into action by hitting seventh and playing right field in Game 2 of a three-game road series against the Angels.
Both Aaron Altherr and Nick Williams are not in the lineup. Altherr's hamstring, which had the outfielder on the 10-day DL last month, is bothering him, while Nick Williams is under the weather, manager Pete Mackanin said pregame. Williams is available to play tonight, if needed.
So the Phillies' outfield will be Nava, Hyun Soo Kim in left and Odubel Herrera in center. Andrew Knapp will get another start, but as the Phillies' designated hitter, as Cameron Rupp enters the lineup to start at catcher. And in other roster news, reliever Edubray Ramos was recalled from Triple A Lehigh Valley.
Jake Thompson takes the mound for the Phillies and opposes right-hander JC Ramirez. For more on tonight's game, read Corey Seidman's game notes here (see story).
