Tonight's Lineup: Franco, Howard Sit for Phillies; Harper Out for Nats

Maikel Franco, 1 for 15 over the last four games, is out of the Phillies' lineup for their series finale Wednesday night against Max Scherzer and the Washington Nationals.

Andres Blanco plays third base and bats third. Blanco is 3 for 6 with a homer off Scherzer (see game notes).

Tommy Joseph is in the lineup for Ryan Howard, as expected. Howard, who started the last two nights against right-handers Tanner Roark and Joe Ross, is 1 for 18 with 11 strikeouts against Scherzer. It should be quite a test for Joseph facing a right-hander with stuff as electric as Scherzer.

Tyler Goeddel and David Lough are the Phillies' corner outfielders. The Phillies acquired Jimmy Paredes, who plays second base, third base and both outfield corners, early Wednesday afternoon from the Blue Jays but he isn't starting. Paredes replaced Emmanuel Burriss on the Phils' 25-man roster.
