The Philadelphia Phillies have teamed up with Uber to offer a special rate to get fans to and from Citizens Bank Park safely and affordably on opening day.
The team has designated Uber the team's official ridesharing app and to celebrate opening day, "uberPOOL rides going to or from Citizens Bank Park within Philadelphia County from 1-8pm will cost only $2.15."
The Phils take on the Nationals at 3:05 on Friday, so just hope the game doesn't go 17 innings if you want to get the special rate on the way home.
In addition to the special rate, a highly-rated Uber driver will get a chance to throw out a first pitch later in the season.
Additionaly, the Phillie Phanatic may pop up in your Uber car at some point later in the season. Details on that have yet to be ironed out, but that should certainly be interesting.

My biggest question for taking a ridesharing ride to the sports complex: why isn't there a designated pickup / dropoff area for each venue. Ever try taking an Uber to the Wells Fargo Center? Good luck getting the driver to figure out where to go.
