A fan dashed onto the field Tuesday night in the late innings of the Phillies disappointing 7-1 loss to the Mets.
As news of the field jumper spread I could see images of the coverage of another idiot Phillies fan dashing into the national spotlight.
But unlike Red Man and the Taser fan of seasons past that helped land Phillies fans (and Eagles fans for that matter) atop a list of the Worst Fans in America, this fan wasn’t rocking Phillies red but rather Mets orange and blue.
That’s right the dishonor of being the first fan to dash on the field at Citizens Bank Park in 2011 went to a guy in a Mets hat and jersey.
Wouldn’t it be great if the only image of a field jumper at the Phillies ballpark this season was that dummy Mets fan being hauled off the field by security?
One can hope.
