Eagles Long Snapper Jon Dorenbos Out for Season After Wrist Surgery

The Eagles have lost long snapper Jon Dorenbos for the season with a wrist injury.

Dorenbos underwent surgery to repair the injury, which sidelined him during Sunday's loss to Washington, and will be placed in injured reserve. The game was Dorenbos' 162nd straight game, tying wide receiver Harold Carmichael for the franchise record.

The Eagles plan to audition long snappers in preparation for next Sunday's game at Baltimore.

Tight end Brent Celek replaced Dorenbos and had two snaps before leaving with a stinger. Tight end Trey Burton replaced Celek and successfully snapped the ball, albeit high, to Donnie Jones, who placed it, and Caleb Sturgis made the field goal.

Elsewhere, running back Darren Sproles is in concussion protocol after being plastered by Deshazor Everett on an illegal hit during a punt return.
