Joel Embiid is doing well.
Following surgery last Saturday to repair a left eye orbital fracture, the Sixers' big man underwent a post-operative examination and the doctors are pleased with how the affected area is presenting to date Friday. There is still no timetable for Embiid's return.
But, as we know, the eye isn't the only concern. Embiid also suffered a concussion from the collision with Markelle Fultz on March 28. Earlier this week, Embiid was cleared by an independent neurologist. To eventually complete the NBA's concussion protocol, Embiid is scheduled to begin the non-contact cardiovascular steps required.
The Sixers are 4-0 since Embiid went down and have won 12 straight overall leading into their big matchup with the Cavaliers Friday night (see story).
