“J-Roll,” “Flyin Hawaiian” Gloves Are Golden

Two World Champions have even more reason to celebrate

Two World Champions have even more reason to celebrate --Phillies shortstop Jimmy Rollins and centerfielder Shane Victorino are 2008 Rawlings Gold Glove Award winners.

The Phillies duo are both known for their hard nosed and consistent defense.

This is the second straight Gold Glove for Rollins. He led NL shortstops with a .988 fielding percentage and only seven errors in 132 starts.

Victorino is being honored with his first Gold Glove. The "Flyin' Hawaiian" committed only two errors in 138 games in the outfield while adding seven assists.

This is the second straight year and 10th time ever that two Phillies have won Gold Gloves in the same season.

Two Mets OF Carlos Beltran and 3B David Wright along with 18-time winner pitcher Greg Maddux also won Gold Glove awards.
