A former college basketball player who was shoved to the ground in a videotaped incident that led to his coach's resignation faces a felony theft charge after police say he swiped two beverages from a concession stand during a Phillies game.
Police say 20-year-old Matthew Kravchuk swiped the drinks worth $15 from a Citizens Bank Park concession stand during Wednesday night's Phillies-Mets game. Authorities say Kravchuk faces a felony charge because of prior offenses.
Kravchuk left the basketball team at Holy Family University and sought criminal charges against his former coach over a shoving incident involving a rebounding drill during practice. Prosecutors declined to file charges.
Coach John O'Connor resigned before the last game of the season.
