The Flyers' season opener on Oct. 4 is quickly approaching and one player - one who has been discussed often since being drafted in 2018 - is another day closer to making the roster.
With his first training camp behind him, Joel Farabee has survived every cut so far that has narrowed the current Flyers' roster down to 27 players.
While general manager Chuck Fletcher has said that the highly-anticipated center Morgan Frost will be reporting to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, Farabee still touched on what it has been like playing alongside Frost the past few weeks in a sit-down interview with NBC Sports Philadelphia's Taryn Hatcher and Derek Souders.
Playing with Morgan - he's a world-class player and it's so easy playing with him. We both think the game really well. So just feeding off of him and just talking with him and keep playing, building chemistry, I think we have a bright future together.
Farabee also said that the two have become pretty close friends, which has made for healthy competition. While it may take some time before seeing the two play on a line together for the Flyers, it's going to be worth the wait.
Farabee has been working his whole life for this opportunity, and now that it's just within reach, he's thinking ahead to that life-changing moment.

"Hopefully when that day comes it'll be pretty special," he said. "I'm excited for it.
"I was kind of born into hockey."
Farabee grew up in a house where both of his older brothers played the sport from a young age, so he naturally took to liking it, as well.
"It was kind of destined that I was going to play, too," he said.
And luckily for Farabee, he's going to have the opportunity to start his professional career in front of a city of fans that he knows well.
"My dad's from Philly, so I was kind of born into being a Philly sports fan," he said. "Chase Utley was my favorite baseball player, I played second base growing up in little league. I'm a pretty big Eagles fan, too. I think the Eagles are going to have 10-plus wins this year, hopefully make a run in the playoffs this year. I just hope they beat the Patriots at some point.
"Philly fans are the most dedicated fans in the world, so being able to throw on a jersey and play for this city will be one of the coolest things I've ever done."
