Flyers Trade Jakub Voracek to Blue Jackets for Cam Atkinson

Voracek's 10-year run with Flyers ends as veteran winger is traded originally appeared on NBC Sports Philadelphia

Chuck Fletcher on Saturday made his fourth trade in a span of eight days.

And it was big.

The deal sent Jakub Voracek, who was one of the longest-tenured Flyers on the roster, to the Blue Jackets in exchange for winger Cam Atkinson.

Voracek spent the last 10 seasons with the Flyers. The playmaking winger turns 32 years old in August and is under contract for the next three seasons at an annual $8.25 million cap hit. It's uncertain if the Flyers are retaining any salary.

Voracek's fate in Philadelphia had become ominous around the expansion draft as the Flyers have put a focus on gaining cap flexibility in this busy July.
